What to expect

A course of 3 to 6 sessions, spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart, is usually recommended, with maintenance peels every 3 to 6 months. Your plan is agreed at your consultation with an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist and Independent Prescriber, so your skin and your goals can be assessed.

 

Downtime

Most people can return to normal activities straight away. Mild redness, warmth or tingling can happen and usually settles within 24 to 48 hours. Light flaking or peeling may start around day 2 or 3 and usually settles within about 5 days, but not everyone peels, and this varies from person to person. Daily SPF 30 or higher and a gentle moisturiser are important while your skin recovers.
